Our Story

Lilou was born in Tauranga, New Zealand. With my dream to create beautiful clothing designed with pregnancy and breastfeeding in mind. 

After having two children myself I thought there was a real lack of choices for women during this special time in their lives.  With all the changes you endure during pregnancy I wanted to create pieces that didn't compromise on style or comfort. An important part of the designing process was creating dresses that were versatile and could be worn in every stage of your motherhood journey, pieces to be cherished forever!

Ethical supply chain was of supreme importance to us when choosing who would be making our clothing. Being sure to make conscious decisions in regards to committing to a sustainable & ethical production is what we are all about, we are very proud of our manufacturer and their commitment to using methods that are sustainable for the environment and resource efficient.

Fast fashion is easy for consumers because it is just that; fast & inexpensive. When it comes to ethical fashion, we understand the price tags can be high and a little daunting. So here at Lilou, we really strive to make shopping ethical an affordable experience.
